On November 13, 2020, the fourth meeting of the Working Group on "Forest Pastures and Silvopastoral Systems within the CAP" was held. Various stakeholders involved in the management of forest pastures and agrosilvopastoral systems participated in the meeting to discuss the characterization of extensive livestock farming.

At the proposal of the Subdirectorate General for Forest Policy, a working session was held with the participation of government agencies, researchers, academics, and environmental organizations involved in various fields of forest pasture management and agroforestry and silvopastoral systems. The session focused on the following objectives:

• To discuss the necessary process of characterizing extensive livestock farming, especially in determining objective criteria that allow for differentiating between the various livestock farming systems and establishing a gradation of their level of extensiveness.
