The X Artistic Residency of Good Living celebrates ten years of shared creation between art, shepherding and territory.
From July 6 to 19, Mutur Beltz brings together artists, researchers and creators in Karrantza in a special edition that will culminate with the open day "Art and Shepherding", together with Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente.

For two weeks, artists and researchers will share creative processes with shepherds and residents of the valley, understanding the residency as a space where creation arises from dialogue, listening, and shared experience. Among the participants is Pedro G. Romero , one of the most important figures in contemporary art. An artist, researcher, curator, and essayist, his career has transformed the way we understand the relationships between art, heritage, memory, and popular culture. His presence in Karrantza offers a unique opportunity to continue exploring new ways of creating from the rural world.

This tenth edition also aims to recognize those who have supported the project since its inception. Therefore, Luis Manuel Peña Cerro , ethnographer, shepherd, and resident of Karrantza, and José Jurado , visual artist and cultural mediator, will participate for the first time as guest artists after a decade of collaborating with the residency as jurors and project supporters.

The artist selected through a public call for proposals is Carla Boserman Romero , who returns seven years after her participation in the 3rd Buen Vivir Artistic Residency with Dibujar convexo (Marraztu Ganbila), a project that investigates the artisanal production of paper from the wool of Carranzana sheep, transforming it into a drawing surface. Taking inspiration from the unique curvature of the Carranzana sheep's muzzle, the residency will culminate on Saturday, July 18th, with the open event "Art and Shepherding," a gathering of artists, shepherds, researchers, and the public. This event will feature Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente , a biologist and science communicator renowned for her work in environmental education and biodiversity conservation, whose presentation will foster a dialogue between contemporary art, sustainability, landscape, and rural culture. Ten years after its inception, the Buen Vivir Artistic Residency continues to solidify its position as a pioneering project where art coexists with the land, learns from its inhabitants, and collaborates with them to build new ways of imagining the future of the rural world.
