Primavera 2026

Two topics of European scope open this spring issue of Savia Rural . These are the design of the next Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), which we discussed with Elisabeth Werner, Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development; and the controversial agreement with Mercosur, on which we bring you the expert opinion of economist Frances Reguant. At the national level, we explore several rural textile businesses and various sustainable forest management projects, two powerful drivers of development in their respective regions. We also dedicate space to agricultural entrepreneurship, represented by the exemplary work of Pomona Fruits, with its organic fruit orchards, and Ca Climent, which is recovering native peanut varieties. And we discuss, among other topics, the International Plan for Spanish Gastronomy, the recent European Youth Conference held in Asturias, and the first Atlas of Desertification in Spain.
